When it comes to people, one thing that has captured my heart and mind is the role that relationships play in each of our lives. With this in mind, I have set myself to study more, to know more, and to share what I have learnt about this all-important aspect of our being.

Today’s youth are our future, they have the potential to grow into responsible and successful citizens but they cannot achieve this on their own. With my Youth Personal Wellness Classes I allow the students to learn about their physical, psychological, spiritual, and relational well-being. I create a safe space for them to ask questions without judgment, share their knowledge without fear, and participate without discrimination. I am just providing that which I yearned for when I was their age. I too have learnt so much.
By the end of these classes, students would have been taught the following :

• Important skills for coping with everyday life
• How to develop healthy identities
• Understanding and managing emotions
• What Mental Health is and how to attain it.
• How to establish and maintain supportive relationships

Testimonials
I attended the Basic Counselling course at The Sanctuary – Christian Counselling Centre - where Joanna was one of the trainers. Joanna has a wonderful, warm personality and is endearing to whomever she meets. She not only has the academic knowledge required for training others, but uses her knowledge from past life and counselling experiences to explain principles and practices needed for effective counselling. Joanna has a wonderful sense of humour and as a result, the course was a delightful and interesting experience.

We attended a FAMILY FORUM in Arusha Tanzania, where Joanna Kucherera was one of the facilitators. Joanna shared with us on something she called “House of oneness” refering to a family. Her presentation was full of practical examples and personal experience which related so well with us as a couple and also as a part of the bigger family unit. Joanna is such a good communicator and very interactive. It was such a privilege having her share her live without reservation with us and would love to sit under her as often as it would be.

Joanna was one of our guest lecturers at the Children at Risk school of YWAM Muizenberg and the topic she was asked to cover was family ministries. The content of the lectures was solid and the fact that she taught from her personal experience was delightful and insightful. That she was able to give input from an African perspective was very helpful as many of our students came from a Western background. We loved having her teach in the Children at Risk school.
